Mambo from Mbeya, Tanzania! This is 35-year-old Eneta Kuasa, who is married and has four children aged between 9 and 15. In 2006, Eneta established her barber shop and scrap metal business. Working seven days a week, 9 to 12 hours a day, assisted by her husband and one employee, she earns about $170 every month. Eneta now requires a loan to purchase additional stocks of scrap metal, a machine for charging car batteries, and electric clippers and shavers. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately $95. In the future, Eneta plans to increase the quantity and range of her stock. SELFINA is engaged in the economic empowerment of women in Tanzania through the provision of a leasing and leaseback microfinance facility, as a practical way to achieve the economic and social emancipation of women.
