RI focuses on medicine support, maternal and child health, health education, and health campaigns.Project Needs and BeneficiariesThere are 80,000 people living in 22 camps in Lower Dir. Approximately 40,000 of people in need are women of which 4,000 are pregnant or nursing babies. The health and welfare of the population is in danger: women are reporting reduced breastfeeding, 86 % of men and women report little or no access to clean water and soap to ensure disease is not spread, measles and other diseases are on the rise, 72 % are without food supplies, and 76 % of the camps residents have experienced mental trauma.ActivitiesRI’s health activities include: support and training for maternal and child health; medicines supplies; mobile referral services; facilitation and training of a community health committee; education campaigns among families for safety and awareness.Potential Long Term ImpactDaily medical services will provide the treatment of miner and moderate ailments. Appropriate and prompt referral services will assist to save lives.
