In their words:

We are the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action on climate change and limiting its impact on the world’s poorest communities. Our combined supporter base of more than 11 million people spans over 100 organisations, from environment and development charities to unions, faith, community and women's groups. Together we demand practical action by the UK to prevent global warming rising beyond the 2 degrees C danger threshold. We want the UK Government to: 1. Show leadership to help create a fair international deal by 2010 to keep global warming below the 2 degrees C danger threshold to protect people and the planet. 2. Take immediate practical action to deliver substantial, sustained annual emissions reductions, ensuring that the UK meets its fair share of the international effort to keep global warming below 2 degrees C. 3. Provide poor countries with the resources they need to help them adapt to climate change and follow a low carbon development path. December 2009 will see world leaders decide how to tackle global warming at the UN climate summit in Copenhagen. They must deliver a fair deal that keeps global warming under 2 degrees C and protects the poorest most vulnerable people. Right now the UK can lead by example by quitting dirty coal and building a green economy. Only the Government can make this happen.
