Not only are you not focused on the road, but your reflexes are slowed and you’re more likely to become distracted. Make Smarter Food Choices
While many people think of road trips as an excuse to eat fast food or junk food that they get at a gas station along their route, eating this way could not only make you feel bloated and fat, but it could also put you in some danger when you’re behind the wheel.
To avoid all of these things, Kristin Fawcett, a contributor to U.S. News and World Report, recommends that you purposefully make some smarter food choices while you’re road tripping. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables and less fried foods. When you do stop for fast food or eat at a restaurant, choose foods that are lighter on things like carbs and sugar.
Remember To Stretch
Being stuck in the car for hours on end can make anybody feel stiff and sore. So to ensure that you don’t wind up in too much pain at the end of each day, Jessica Sanders, a contributor to Active.com, advises that you find time to stretch every few hours while road tripping.
Make sure you’re stretching both your upper and lower body, as you can hold tension in all areas when you’re in a seated position for extended periods of time.
